Fine black man I thank you for whom, what and how you are
For all that I ever wanted and desired I have found in you a shining star
True love has no price tag but comes naturally
A firm foundation, friendship developed by you and me
Fine black man I love you as my king
Just the same each day you remind the world that I am your queen
This isn't to say that you are without faults
But one cannot be changed; rather the man himself can change if and when he decides to
What makes you so fine, different from the rest
Hell yeah, you make a sister’s head turn
But you are fine in the way you walk
The depth of conversation, the lessons you teach, your creativity, the mastery of speech
The personification of a true gentleman
Expressing yourself with a pen in your hand
Fine black man you would make any woman complete
For you I’m willing to go that extra mile
In and out of me we create a beautiful child
Yet I write this while standing in a mirror for I know who and what I am
For what I had in my heart
What one woman took and tore apart
I write this so you will one day understand
Exactly what I am
A fine black man
